Another thing to note is that these big companies produce products in mass quantities so they use various components which are generic to help beef up their products, some shady companies use harmful substances while some do not, this all depends on their ethical commitments or stance. For some companies pleasing their shareholders is what matters to them the most and will go to any length just to achieve that.
