Self Help and Motivational
For physical pain we can take medicines but when it comes to mind, even the diagnosis is difficult. Through out life, we have series of incidents that cause happiness or sadness and most times it seems as if it is difficult to control our mind.
One basic problem in dealing with the mind is emotions. We react to people and situations with our emotions and they seem to create an unbalance in us. Emotions by themselves are not bad but when we act unreasonably because of emotions, we loose our sense of balance. For example, in the midst of anger, we may behave unreasonably and at that moment of time, it is difficult to even realize that we are very angry.
Science discovered that unresolved emotions can be a cause of physical problems as well. As an example, when one is continuously stressed, one may develop blood pressure.
Lester Levenson explained that by releasing harmful emotions, we not only achieve a balance of mind, we also improve our health. It is because by releasing emotions naturally, we are able to free our mind from influencing our body in a negative way.
Does this mean that all emotions are bad? Obviously not. If you are excited about your promotion at job, it might be a good thing. However the issue is the intensity of emotional reactions and when this intensity is high, it tend to be high both sides either good or bad. So when it comes to balance, this fact equally applies to both positive and negative emotions. Considering this, releasing all emotions in a constructive way seems to be good for us in terms of achieving balance.
Lester called his technique of releasing The Sedona Method during his time. Later it also became available in a different variation as The release technique. There are some differences when we compare release technique vs sedona method. Irrespective of the techniques, it is important to realize that our mind has enormous influence on our physical body and environment and so it is important to clear the mind of all overheads.
